Vadakkunathan Temple :
Vadakkunathan temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Temple is located in Thrissur Kerala. The temple bieng built by Parashurama. There is a multi shrines complex in the centre with three principal shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Shankaranarayana and Rama.
The idol of Shiva ( Vadakkunathan ) which is not visible , is said to have been covered by Ghee, formed by the daily abhisheka with ghee over a year.
Vadakkunathan temple has got a certain order and method for shrines to be visited and worshipped.
Temple Timing :
Morning : It opens at 4:00 AM and closes at 11:00 AM
Evening : It opens at 4:30 PM and closes at 8:20 PM
Dress Code :
For men : White pancha or dhoti, one has to remove the shirt to visit inside the temple campus.
For Women : Saree with blouse , salwar suit , ( Jeans is not allowed )
