Dongargarh is one of the prominent pilgrim places of Chhatisgarh. Blessed with the majestic mountains and ponds, Dongargarh has derived its name from two words-'Dongar' meaning 'mountains' and 'Garh' meaning 'Fort". A popular landmark here, Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple is situated on a hilltop which is 1000 ft high. To reach temple one has to take approx 1200 - 1300 steps. This temple attracts a lot of devotees especially during the Navrathri festival.

How To Reach :

Dongargarh is nearly 110 Kms from Raipur ( Chhattisgarh ) and 190 Kms from Nagpur ( Maharastra )
Dongargarh is having good connecting by train and road from both the cities but very few buses are coming to Dongargarh so if you are coming to Dongargarh by road you must come by your own wheeler.
Dongargarh station comes in railways one of the main route Howrah  - Bombay so trains are very frequent. Dongargarh Bamleshwari Mandir is nearly 1.5 Kms from railway station.

Arti Timing : Morning 7 AM and Evening 7 PM

Ropeway Timing : 
 1) Except Sunday Ropeway  starts at 7 AM  and stop at 1 PM and again start at 3 PM and stop at 7 PM
2) On Sunday and other holidays  Ropeway  starts at 7 AM  and stop at 7 PM
3) On Navaratri days ropeway keeps running 24 hours
Ropeway Fee : Approx 100 Rs for bothway , you can buy ticket for one way too that will coat around 50 Rs

Best Time to Reach Dongargarh to avoid waiting for ropeway is before 9 AM
